Dr. Jack N. Kayonga

– CVL GROUP CEO –

He has in 22 years of being in the financial services sector, amassed experience as a seasoned banker and investment professional, and through the process has served and serves as a key resource person on several public and private Boards, Committees and Task Forces.

EDUCATION

He holds a Doctorate in Business Leadership from the SMC University, MSc Degree in Finance and Banking from Cardiff University (UK) and a BSc Degree in Economics from the National University of Rwanda, all completed with distinctions.

Jack has won different accolades including Forbes Africa Young Business Leader of the year 2012, The East Africa All Africa Business Leaders Award. He is a fellow of the World Economic Forum.

EXPERIENCE

He began his career as an Economist in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. He later joined the Rwanda Development Bank as Head of Credit, later as Deputy C.E.O, and in 2009 he was appointed as the Bank C.E.O, a position he served at for 4 years. Jack left the Rwanda Development Bank in 2013 and joined Crystal Ventures Ltd as the Executive Chairman. In 2016, he was appointed as the C.E.O of Agaciro Development Fund (Rwanda’s Sovereign Wealth Fund). He, in March 2020, returned back to Crystal Ventures Ltd. as the Executive Chairman for 2 years, and in March 2022 he was nominated as Crystal Ventures Group CEO.

He has also been involved in several start-ups which he co-founded and held the position of CEO/COO.
